Freedom! When will you be free?

Sometimes , I keep on wondering "what's the real meaning of freedom?" Indeed a very tough question for those who are already "free". the word "freedom" holds an important place for those who are slaves of someone or something ... but the day, one is free, which, to my belief, is almost impossible in many senses, he'she loses the sense of freedom.. how absurd! yet, think on it well ...

many people celebrate their independence with pomp. some cherish the very fact that they are free, not slaves, and are enjoying the facilities of a democratic state. others, are merely satisfied with the idea of at least doing things they want. perception!! we are most of the times being fooled .. fooled by our circumstances, by people and by our own philosophy of life ... knowing something and experiencing something are two different things, but alas, who has time in this busy world, to ponder on the differences? all that, we know, is that we are free ...

but then, how to merge our happiness with our freedom ... this also is a big question and requires efforts galore. freedom is something which needs to be rejoiced. but, intellectuals usually talk so seriously on such matters, like i am trying to do, and complicate one's and other's lives... well, I am not saying that i am an intellectual, though, right now, i am somewhat confused about what i am writing ... yet, I see so many people always complaining that "freedom" is a utopia. how far, this is true for all of you reading this blog, is up to you to decide but i will surely end by saying that, every moment one shares with his/her close ones which gives him/her back happiness in return, is an important aspect of being a "free person".

for, to anybody, freedom is a quite personal and subjective matter ...

take care and enjoy your freedom.

Happy Independence day and republic day to our motherland, Mauritius. (12 March)

back again

Dear friends,

I am back again after ages. I have been going through the web blogs of Shri Amitabh Bachchan, and I found that despite being so busy and taken up in his own world of cinematography, which transcends viewers all around the globe, yet he manages to update his blog on a daily basis. This is the commitment, I think, all bloggers need to adopt, so as to be able to do justice to oneself and to the readers too. Of course, the aspect of quality also need to be preserved.

Well, I have, kind of, decided to keep myself and my dormant blog updated onwards. I know, it requires, commitment, towards which, I am rarely committed yet, I shall try my best.

Lately, I have been interested in reading books of different contents, like a bit of Robin Sharma, Dr. Brian Weiss (many lives many masters) and of course, The Secret. I consider these types of books to be real guides as far as the development of one's personality is concerned. for example, in "The Secret", much is talked about the 'law of attraction'. indeed, if one thinks well, this is the ultimate law, just like any other law of nature, which many have termed in different names. Some, even call this our 'karma', others even believes it to be God.

the law of attraction is simple. whatever we think, our thoughts are dispersed into the universe, where there is a concentration of energy which grasps our thoughts. there, thoughts are gathered in categories. so, basically, similar kinds of thoughts, are zipped in there. then, they are sent back to their source, in bulk. in others words, if we think of something positive, and if we firmly believe in that ('passionately', as the writer says), we are sure to be getting positiveness back, in bulk. the same situation applies for our negative thoughts. this is why, it is said that, we only decide what we shall be in the future.

well, this may sound absurd to some but yet, to me, it a reality. a simple exercise, one can practise. think about ourselves, the day we start complaining about certain things, and we become demotivated, this keeps on growing until after certain days, we feel that our complaining attitude is part and parcel of our behaviour. I believe that this book, and many others like this boost up our self-confidence and makes us feel more powerful from within.

for today, that was it friends.

I hope to be back soon for another post.

till then, take good care of yourselves.

Rising Grace

A light
A force
A faith
Shaped the destiny of unborn children of slaves
It fought to its last

Political activist
Once confused to take up the path of religion
In solitude
Where his friend lived in
There with twenty thousand ghosts
Alive …

He was acknowledged by almost none
At the very dawn of his struggle
A desire he had to give birth to mankind
To cut apes from human
Aha! Respected apes!
Educated ones!
Who possessed men
As objects
Children, black ones
Taken like animals in ships
To serve for ‘big’ countries
With their sweats turned into blood
Women raped for pleasure
Man in chains…
As rewards, beaten to deaths
With no laws on their side

Slaves, we all are, for sure
Of our desires
Of our ambitions
Of our own destiny …

But He gave the world back
Its faith on humanity
On eternal values of all being one
He fought
With His passion
Without violence
In the House of Commons

To make us all
Blacks, whites,
Of any religion
Realize our buried voices
Shouldered for so long
No hopes of freedom which remained our fate

And one day of enlightment
For the world
And to humanity
To condemn
And to be ashamed of
All forces
In the favour of slavery

He was none less than an avatar
A man history might not remember
Yet, his power to be felt
In any form, at any time, in any country

An amazing grace,
William Wilberforce
A living history of mankind!
